Please keep the following guidelines in mind when making a request. The reason behind most of these is because of problems we have encountered and/or time limitations.

• When making a request, please include as much information as you can (dates, relationships, township, etc...) and exactly what information you are looking for, i.e.. "I'm looking for the parents and possible siblings for "*" who was born between "* and *". A request of: "I'm looking for John Smith", just doesn't cut it. The more we have, the faster and easier it is for us to get back to you with more information.
   
• We will not reply to email that does not have your complete name and snail mail address included. We quite often run into the problem of having a reply returned after we've spent time looking for info. Without the snail mail address, we have no other means to get in contact with the individual. If you do not receive a reply, it's most likely because no name and/or snail mail address was included with your email request.
   
• If you've been given a file number at some point, please include that with any and all correspondence including email. This is for your benefit as well as ours and avoids us duplicating research.
   
• Please use only the ACHS&M email. We realize that requesting lookups from individuals is an integral part of doing research but an email request to an individual researcher rather than the library will be forwarded to the Corresponding Secretary.

All research monies received go into our library fund. We appreciate your patience. We pick up the email once per week as well as receive snail mail requests and we do find ourselves behind.
