Tick-Tock Raise the Clock

ACHS&M received the Bank One clock as a donation in early 2008. We have been fortunate to have the help of many who have restored the clock's body and placed it back onto the historic landscape of Court Street beside the ACHS&M building. Visit our Facebook page to see photos of the clock being placed on the pole in our parking lot. Like ACHS&M while you are there!

Now we are raising funds to get this jewel of Court Street ticking again!  The stained glass art and panels must be either restored or replaced and the works must be installed. Below is the link to donate to this extraordinary Athens County preservation project through PayPal's secure website. All donations are welcome and donations of $500 or more will enable your name or your business's name to be recognized on a metal plaque that will be displayed near the clock. Donate today!

Did you know?

The clock was installed at the old Bank of Athens building in 1924.

The clock originally had Westminster chimes that would sound a hymn on the quarter hour.

The chime sang the notes to this hymn lyric: "Lord, through this hour/Be Thou our guide/So by the Power/No foot shall slide"
